I beg to differ with Bill Bowers. Being from Leesburg Ga. as a Life long resident, I can tell you that prior to 1956 Georgia's Flag incorperated the First National flag of the CSA. As a matter of fact that is the flag they reverted back to after that hideious looking banner (Barnes Flag) that they developed to appease the NAACP.
I find it funny that those idiots can"t or don't realize that this to is a Confederate symbol.I guess you would have to read a History book to figure that out. by supporting the real reasons for the war and our realatives that fought it, does not make you a racist.
I am currently living in Wisconsin and I fly ALL of the confederate banners in order. Most people don't even reconize any flag other than the battle flag. I was once asked if I was from texas!!! We were flying the bonnie blue in the front yard. You gotta love these Yankees.Must be the cheese

I've come to expect this kind of PC crap from main stream TV.Remember Andersonville, that was another yankee feel good flick! Chocked full of the usal historical incorrect programing we;ve come to expect. that made Captain Wirtz to look like some kind of mental case. But this is what we can expect if we don't stand up for our ancestors.Besides TNT and the History channel don't want REV.Al & company to stop watching!!!! Or is that BET.

If apologies are required they should begin with the there own people. After all the slaves were supplied by black tribial leaders. They were then transported by Yankee Ships for sale in America.
Unfortunate for them but I think slave life in America was far better then the life they left behind in Africa.
As for the Confederate States paying reperations or even apologizing, Well I think we paid a heavy enough price! The destruction the yankees laid to the south, the stolen property, whole towns GONE!

Thanks for the alternative view of history; it gives Northerners another opinion and, being intelligent people, they can figure it out themselves. They should be able to, for example, understand the slavery issue, in the light of your most recent article, where you state that slavery in the North was only repealed 13 years before the outbreak of “Civil War.” As you can see, I defer to Southerners’ preference for “War for Southern Succesion.”

One more point: Has the discussion on Slavery ever carried over to the undermining of the Self-Sufficient-Farm System developed more in the South than in the North. I would love to hear more on this subject.
Sincerely,
Ezio Maiolini

Of course Mississippi adopted their state flag in 1894. it seemed only right after they had instituted poll taxes and literacy test (1890) to disenfranchise black voters. Why not show their true colors ?

You couldn't be more in error on the Authorised, or King James Version of the Bible. The heavily-documented origins of that version, largely based on the Tyndale Version, but painstakingly translated by companies of expert linguists at Oxford and Cambridge, with an exhaustive system of checks, nowhere contains the name Sir Francis Bacon. I have no idea whether he wrote anything credited to Shakespeare, but the Bible's translation, completed in 1611, was a monumental undertaking which, in my opinion, has never been matched.
